I Love Lazy Saturdays

Okay, so my house is dirty. Not gross-out-please-don't-make-us-go-in-unless-you- brought-hand-sanitizer-along-dirty, but definitely not clean. And there is a pile of dirty clothes in the hallway. And it's 4:32 pm and I have absolutely no idea what we're having for dinner. And I don't care. Today was a fabulously lazy Saturday. Chad was home, the kids were happy and we didn't have anywhere we had to be. Seriously, it was awesome.

Chad and Mikey played Lego Star Wars. A lot. I don't know exactly what they did, but I know that it included successfully passing many levels (each of which called for excessive high fives upon completion). Natalie painted her nails. Fingers and toes. And, yes, she does throw the sign of the beast while applying cosmetics. She just rocks that hard.

Now we are going to battle my in-laws on Wii's Guitar Hero III via the magic of the internet. So, what did I do today? Not much. And I really hope there's time to do it all again next weekend.

Family Art Day

We declared today "Family Art Day." We laid a tarp down on the carpet and got out all sorts of paints and markers and crayons that are usually confined to the top shelf of the closet where they are carefully monitored and sparsely loaned out. But not today! We got all our messy, stain-producing art supplies out and painted together as a family. It was super fun. Chad ended up with some really gorgeous oil paintings and the kids' art was adorable as always. I basically just got paint everywhere. Afterwards, we piled into the car and went to see "Seussical the Musical" with the Maloys. It was great! Natalie loved it. On the way home she kept saying, "I'm going to miss that 'movie' soooo much. Why it have an ending?" Super cute. It was a great day.
