Brick Con 2008
A few weekends ago we took Mikey to "Brickcon" (the annual Lego convention) at the Seattle Center. It was so much fun. There were some very impressive Lego creations. Seriously, thousands and thousands of pieces in some of the sculptures. It was amazing. The crowd was super cool too. I love people who get into stuff and are passionate about what they like. They even had an area roped off for the kids where they could sit down with a bucket of Legos and create their own piece to display.
I'm not sure that everyone attending Brickcon had the full support of their families though. While I was perusing the entries, I overheard the following conversation:
Lego enthusiast #1: "Hey man--this your display?"
Lego enthusiast #2: "Yeah"
Lego enthusiast #1: "How much it cost to gather up all these pieces"
Lego enthusiast #2: "Ummm....I don't know. If I kept track of how much I spent on this stuff, I probably wouldn't have a wife."
I don't know why that conversation amused me as much as it did. But, it did. I thought it was hilarious. And very honest. And, probably, accurate.

Hilarious! We thought about taking the kids to brick con as well, but we already had so many obligations that day and couldn't fit it in. Bummer!
